// ============================================================ // Apex Lenses (me81mm-yw) - LensAdvisor customizations // // "Frame Details" step, shown as its own step immediately after // the customer picks a prescription type and before "Choose Your // Lenses". It uses the widget's native step markup/classes so it // inherits the store's modal styling. // // Two values are collected onto the order line item (and onto the // LensAdvisor prescription request): // Frame Model - typed brand / model name or number // _Frame Photo - photo of the inside of the frame. The file is // sent to the store's Shopify Files and the // property holds the resulting file URL. // // The photo key is deliberately underscore-prefixed, which makes it // an internal property: the customer never sees the raw URL (Shopify // hides "_" properties in cart/checkout, and the widget's review // list skips them - core.js renderReviewDetails). The customer gets // a thumbnail of their photo on the review step instead, added by // apexInsertReviewPhoto below. Staff still see the URL: the review // filter does not apply to the LensAdvisor order detail, which // renders frameProperties as-is (web/Components/Orders/LineItems/ // BaseProduct.js). // // Both are written to hidden la-properties[...] inputs that live // outside the modal content, so they survive every step change and // are still in the DOM when the customer adds to cart. This store // adds a single lens line (no separate frame line), and that line // is built from the la-properties fields - see getProperties() in // add-to-cart.js. They are mirrored onto customBaseProductProperties // as well so they would still land if a frame line is ever enabled. // // Both are optional by default (APEX_FRAME_STEP.field.required / // .photo.required) so a customer who cannot find the model can // continue and send it later. Flip either to true to block the // Continue button until it is filled in. // // Dropping the leading underscore from photo.key would make the raw // URL visible to the customer in the review list and in cart. // ============================================================ // The widget injects this script once per widget instance on the // page (updateCustomJSandCss has several call sites), so everything // here must survive re-execution: listeners register on first run // only, and the collected values live on LensAdvizor. var APEX_FIRST_RUN = !window.__apexFrameStepLoaded; window.__apexFrameStepLoaded = true; function apexOn(eventName, handler, options) { if (APEX_FIRST_RUN) document.addEventListener(eventName, handler, options); } // ---------------- configuration ---------------- var APEX_FRAME_STEP = { title: 'Frame Details', description: 'Please share the exact brand and model name or number of your frame. Follow these steps to measure your Pupillary Distance (PD) at home.

' + '

Step 1: Stand in front of a well lit mirror
Hold a ruler or PD stick against your brow for stability.

' + '

Step 2: Close your right eye
Look straight ahead and align the zero mark of the ruler with the center of your left pupil.

' + '

Step 3: Open your right eye and close your left
Look straight ahead and note the measurement that lines up with the center of your right pupil. This number is your Distance PD.

' + '

Step 4: Repeat for accuracy
Take the measurement at least twice to confirm consistency.

' + '

Once you have your numbers, enter your pupillary distance into the field.

' + '

If you would like to get your pupillary distance automatically, we offer a free mobile app that measures it for you.

Follow these steps to measure your segment height accurately at home.

' + '

Step 1: Set Up
Stand in front of a well lit mirror with your glasses and a small marker or sticky note.

' + '

Step 2: Put On Your Glasses
These will guide the measurement based on how they naturally sit on your face.

' + '

Step 3: Mark Your Pupils
Look straight into the mirror and place a small mark on each lens directly in front of the center of each pupil.

' + '

Step 4: Measure Down
Remove your glasses and measure from each mark straight down to the bottom edge of the lens. This distance is your segment height.

' + '

Step 5: Repeat for Accuracy
Measure each eye at least twice to ensure consistency.

' + '

Step 6: Confirm Symmetry
Your left and right measurements should be close. If not, take another measurement until they match comfortably.

' + '

Once you have your numbers, enter your segment height into the field.

' + '

If you would like to get your segment height automatically, we offer a free app that measures it for you. This is only available on Apple iOS mobile devices.
